Doctor Update

We went for Jacob's 30 day check after the last ear infection this morning and they were both CLEAR!!

Weight- 19 lbs 1 oz

Now if the second tooth that is so close to breaking the skin would come in!!

Jacob had the hardest time falling asleep this weekend both at night and for naps. It seems as if I should have just given him to Uncle Matt all weekend.

Pathers Fan

Jacob & I are in Charlotte for the weekend and are having fun. Uncle Matt also came to visit for the weekend. After breakfast this morning, we went to wal-mart and found Jacob a new Panthers Hat. He is now ready for football!!

Swimming

We took Jacob swimming today for the first time and he LOVED it. We had a great time. He kicked, splashed and had a great time!

1st Tooth

Jacob's first tooth has broken the skin! I thought I saw it last night when he was eating dinner but was not sure. He didn't nap very long (30 min) yesterday so he fell asleep at 6 last night so I never got a good look. This morning, I confirmed that we have our 1st tooth. I think the other bottom front tooth is about to come in also!

8 Months

I can hardly believe that my baby is 8 months old today. Time has flown by so fast. It feel like just yesterday that we found out that we were expecting.

At 8 months:

• Jacob still has NO teeth. You can see the swelling for all 4 front teeth but none have broken the skin yet.
• Jacob can Army Crawl- he is starting to get up on his knees but has not made any forward progress on his knees yet.
• He mumbles Ma-Ma and Da-Da real well. Of course, Da-Da was first!
• He loves the cats. If they are in the room with him he just stares and smiles at them. Don't expect him to eat if he can see them. He would much rather watch the cats than eat.
• Charlie lets Jacob pet (grab) him and they both love it. Abby on the other hand, is a different story.
• Jacob LOVES Mixed Vegetables. He is doing well with eating a variety of foods.
• He does not mind being left at the sitters. He goes to Deb in the mornings with open arms. I hope this never changes!
• He has already had 2 double ear infections. We hope this trend does not continue.
• Jacob loves to jump. It does not matter where he is (jumper, your lap)
• He continues to sleep well (all night)
• His face lights up when either Matt or myself come into a room.
• Jacob loves being outside- it does not matter if we are taking a walk around the neighborhood or just sitting in the back yard under a tree.

I look forward to seeing how he will change over the next few months as he continues to explore.

Baby Pool

Matt left last evening to go to Lansing for the week. Jacob and I are going to have a wonderful week. The best part about Matt traveling this week is that I don't have to!!! I get a FULL week at home with Jacob (I wish Matt was here too but I'll take what I can get)

Today we got out the new baby pool. Jacob loved it. He kicked, splashed and played with his toys. We were in the shade and with the wind blowing it got too cool so we had to get out. (BTW we do know that it is Pink BUT it was the only color they had and I didn't want to drive all over town for a $2.00 pool that was not pink)

Crawling

Jacob has started "Army" crawling. He is not up on his knees just yet but is still trying. I was finally able to get him to do it for the video camera tonight!

Photo Shoot

On the 4th, one of Alison's friends (Claire Fischer) came over to the house to take a family photo and some of the kids. She did an excellent job!! Here are a few of my favorite shots of Jacob.

2nd Cousins

We had a great time down in Alabama for the 4th. We got home late tonight and I have to leave tomorrow to head back to Birmingham for work but I wanted to get a few pictures up before going to bed. I'll post more on our trip once I get back from my trips to Alabama & Iowa this week.
