Stinky Feet

I couldn't get the first meal video to load so here is one of Jacob laughing. We were playing on the couch yesterday and I was playing with his feet and he was laughing so hard. Here is what I could get on the video camera!!

Rice Cereal

We got the OK from the doctor this week to try solids. Matt waited for me to get home so that we could do it together. Friday night was our first attempt. It went well. Jacob was not sure what to think about the new food but he did manage to eat just a little of it.

Yes I do know that they make bibs for this occasion but he was already dirty so I didn't bother.

He looks terrified but really it was not a bad experience.

Matt did a great job feeding him too!

Matt did get it on video and I will try to get that posted in the morning. It's 2:30am and I should really be in bed. Jacob woke me up at 1am and I can't fall back asleep (although he went right back to sleep)

4 Month Stats

Jacob had his well-baby appointment today. He's perfect!!

Height- 26 inches (90th percentile)- up from 50th at 2 months
Weight- 14 lbs 11 oz (50th percentile)- Perfect
Head Circumference- 17.2 inches

Jacob had a choking episode on Sunday night and again last night. The doctor seemed to think it was a classic reflux episode. She thinks it was made worse by the cold that he has. Before we treat it, we are going to watch him until the cold is over to see if it happens again. If it continues to happen, she is going to schedule an upper GI and possibly start him on some meds.

We were given the go-ahead to start solid foods. We will start that this weekend. I'm leaving today to go out of town for 2 nights and I don't think Matt wants to start solids without me!

Easter Morning

The Easter Bunny came to see Jacob this morning. He liked his new stuffed animal, bunny ears and toys. Mom & Dad liked the candy that he got. I think the Easter Bunny forgot that Jacob is not old enough for a Chocolate Bunny just yet.

Bath time

We gave Jacob his first bath in the tub on Friday. We realized that the bath tub we had been using does not work well as a bath seat so we did go buy a new one this weekend but have not tested it out yet. Jacob seems to enjoy the big bath tub. He was getting to big to use the tub on the counter.

Daddy is scrubbing his head to try to get rid of some of the craddle cap!

Date Night

We had a babysitter for the night so Matt & I took full advantage of it and had a nice dinner out.

We don't think Grandma minded staying home with Jacob!

Easter Bunny

Saturday afternoon we went to the mall to see the Easter Bunny. Jacob did good and the bunny was not scary at all.

Watch me Grow- 4 months 1 week

Jacob & Webster at 4 months and 1 week!

Cranky Baby

We *think* Jacob is teething. At least, we hope this is why he has been cranky the last few days. Sunday was one of his most cranky days yet. We found 2 ways to get him to calm down: 1) Chew on my finger 2) Sleep. The teething toys that we have work well but nothing beats mom's (or dad's) finger.

He looks so peaceful from screaming 10 minutes prior to this picture!!

We go to the doctor next Tuesday for his 4 month appointment!

Travel

As you can tell from my lack of posting that I have begun to travel again full time- Since beginning to travel again- I have been to Iowa, South Carolina, Toronto, Detroit and Tennessee. This week was TN. I seem to have the worst time with flights. 2 weeks ago, I got stuck in Toronto in a snow storm and had to spend an extra night. Yesterday, I was going to get stuck in TN, so once I figured out my flight had been pushed back so far that it was most likely going to get canceled (it eventually did) and flights were checked and the earliest I could get home would be around 6pm on Saturday- I made the decision to drive home instead. So I spent my Friday night driving until 2am from Knoxville, Tennessee. I didn't want to miss my Saturday morning play time with Jacob. Needless to say, going to bed at 2:30am and getting up to play at 7 am makes a very tired mommy today!

Things are going well- Jacob is growing fast! He turned 4 months yesterday. I need to get in him for his 4 month check up in the next few days (guess I will call Monday to get that scheduled) Matt is doing great with Jacob when I'm not home- As you can see below, Jacob loves hanging out with his daddy.

We are very excited that Grandma is coming up to visit for Easter weekend. She is going to have a date night with Jacob and Mom & Dad will get to have one too! Since we don't have family around- we don't have the opportunity to go out without Jacob. We are all excited about her visit!
