A cranky baby went to bed last night, a sleepy one went to the sitters this morning and a VERY Happy one came home tonight.
I'm SO relieved that Jacob was back to his normal self as I have to leave in the morning after dropping him off at the sitters to go to Birmingham.
Now if I can just make myself feel better- I hope I don't get everyone else sick in Alabama!

6th Month Doctor Update
We had Jacob's 6th month appointment last Tuesday...
Weight- 16lbs 10 oz (50th percentile)
Height- 26.4 inches (50th percentile)
Head- 17 3/4 inches (~80th percentile)
Jacob was right on target for all of the 6th month milestones.
Jacob had been having green eye goop again in his left eye (we had been treating at home with the meds we got last time) so we had the doctor check that out too. She thought it looked ok and was just his sinus draining from his eye (YUCK) and had us stop the meds. The next morning I left to go out of town and it got worse over the next few days and now BOTH eyes were oozing green. The doctor had told us to give it 2 weeks from when it started. I got home late on Friday night and after checking him out on Saturday we took him to urgent care. He had also developed a slight fever and cough. Urgent care doctor diagnosed him with Bacterial Conjunctivitis so we started the drops on Saturday night. While his eyes are looking better they are still oozing green. He was still running a slight fever today and very crabby (I seem to have gotten sick with whatever he has too)!
It's been a long week and weekend and I'm ready for my healthy baby back!

First Bike Ride
We took Jacob on his first bike ride today. He loved it- He hated the helmet so we are still working on getting him to wear that before we venture out of our neighborhood. We rode 2 miles and he was all smiles. We could have rode all day but as you can tell by our outfits- it was a bit too chilly today. Hopefully it will warm up soon so we can enjoy the bikes more.

Happy 6 months!
My sweet baby is 6 months old today. I can't believe how big he is getting. I love watching him learn new things everyday.
Babbling- Jacob babbles a lot. If you are reading him a book he babbles along with you as if he wants to read the book to you.
Rolling- Jacob is doing great at rolling over. He can roll across the living room floor now to be able to get what he wants. He does get himself in trouble during the night- for the last week at 3:30 am- I hear him crying and when I go to check in on him he is face down in the corner of the crib- he has rolled over there and can't get out. Once I flip him back over and in the center of the crib he goes right back to sleep.
Sleep- Jacob goes to bed between 6-730- 7:30 pm at the latest but sometimes he falls asleep before then and usually wakes up between 6:30 am and 7 am. He sleeps all night (minus the last week when he gets stuck in the corner on his stomach) and is happy ready to play when he gets up.
Solid Food- We have eaten- Rice Cereal, Oatmeal, Carrots, Peas, Sweet Potato, Green Beans, Bananas. We are still adding new foods every few days. He is doing good with the food- He LOVES his oatmeal and could care less for the rice cereal unless it is mixed with anything else. We think he had a reaction to the green beans so we are waiting a few months before we try again.
Crawling- Not yet but he is trying hard. When he gets his bottom in the air he falls over.
Teeth- No teeth yet- he is chewing on everything and drooling so maybe we are getting close.
Travel- Jacob has been to NC 3 times in 6 months and we are going to the beach (Outer banks) in June. He has been on the airplane twice with me and does great. I'm hoping the car ride to the beach is as easy.
We have his 6 month appointment next week so I will post his doctor appointment update then.

Weekend Pictures
I am finally home and don't have to travel for the next week or so. Last week I was in Birmingham on Monday/Tuesday, home late on Tuesday, left again on Thursday with Jacob. I droped Jacob off with Matt's mom in Charlotte during my layover as I headed back to Birmingham. I fly back to Charlotte on Saturday morning, picked up Jacob and we hung out at My dad's until Sunday evening... Got home at 9pm Sunday evening... Then I fly out at 7am on Monday morning to go to Baltimore for the day. I got home around 7pm last night. I'm so happy to be home for a week or two and will finally be able to get caught up on laundry.
Here are some pictures from our wonderful weekend in NC.
