Jacob ROLLED OVER!!

Jacob rolled over for the first time last night (3 times to be exact) This is video of number 2. The first time was so much faster. As soon as I put him down, he rolled right over. YAY Jacob!!

Ladies Man

Jacob is such a ladies man! The sitter that keeps Jacob keeps a wide range of kids... some all day, some kids half day and the older kids wait for the bus at her house in the morning then again come after school until the parents get off work. All of the older girls (and some younger ones) love Jacob. Yesterday school was delayed due to snow so when I dropped him off the older kids were still there and as we walked in- several girls got all excited and screamed "Jacob's here" Today- little girl got excited "baby is here" and when I pick him up- the older girls are always right with him or quick to tell me where he is as soon as I walk in the door.

I was very scared about leaving Jacob at daycare but he is doing great and the sitter really loves him. I think in the long run it is going to be good for him to have the interaction with the other kids. All the kids that go there- love the sitter. One older girl even comes after school to come help out! She was going there since she was a baby. All the kids are well behaved too which is a plus!!

Jacob is still waking up once during the night. I don't mind the middle of the night feeding since I don't get to see him all day it give me some extra alone time with him. Last night I hear him on the monitor at 4:15 am but he is not fussing or crying... he was laughing loud. He was all giggles. So I went in to check on him and feed him- he was WIDE awake laying in his crib in the dark laughing. Matt says he thinks we have a ghost in the house (first time I've heard this)- a friendly ghost- and the ghost was playing with Jacob last night. YEAH that makes me feel better- Thanks!!

Jacob & I had a great time tonight playing. He is really starting to get such a personality.

2 month stats

Jacob has his 2 month appointment yesterday. He got his shots which was not fun but he did great. He cried briefly at the doctor office then slept all day at the sitters. We went out to dinner last night and he did great. No matter how crummy he is feeling he still smiles!

His stats were:
3 Weeks:
Height- 22.5 inches
Weight- 9lbs 9oz
Head Circumference: 15 inches

2 Months
Height- 23.4 inches
Weight- 12lbs
Head Circumference: 15 3/4 inches

He was in the 50th percentile for all 3 areas!!

Sick Baby

Monday morning at 2:00 am, Jacob woke up sick. He was coughing and all stuffed up. I kept him home from Daycare on Monday to take him to the doctor. The doctor tested him for RSV- thankfully it came back negative. So he has a good old cold and since he is so young- there is nothing we can do for it. So it's lots of rest/love and suction to the nose.

Last night was a long night. He slept all night but woke up often then by 6am he would not let me leave him- so we cuddled up on the couch together and went back to sleep. He has only been up once so far since 7am-just long enough to eat then back to sleep. Hopefully the lots of sleep he is getting today will help him get over his cold. He stayed home from daycare today too. As long as he is still not running a fever- I might attempt to take him to daycare tomorrow.

Update from the week!

Jacob had a great 1st week at daycare. Going back to work has been hard but I know that he is loved at the sitters. While at Daycare on Friday- Jacob needed his diaper changed and one of the little girls wanted to "help" so as the sitter and the little girl were changing his diaper he peed and hit the little girl in the face. Luckily they both laughed but I don't know if she will want to "help" with Jacob anymore.

Jacob has been sleeping great (always has), he has been only waking up once a night (around 5 am) BUT Thursday night he slept ALL NIGHT (9pm-7am)!! WAHOO!! I'm am hopeful that this trend will happen again!!

Jacob's 2 month check up and shots is scheduled for next Friday. I'm NOT looking forward to this doctor appointment.

First Day- Daycare

Jacob had his first day of daycare yesterday. He did great!! I left him there from 8:30 am- 4:00 pm. I only cried until Noon. Then I went to the mall and ran a few errands. I don't actually start work until Wednesday. I wanted to let Jacob have a full week of daycare and 2 days that if I needed to cry all day- I can without having to work.

Today I dropped him off at 9am and I'm going to go to the gym and then shopping this afternoon! I plan to get him between 3pm- 4pm.



This photo is a bit blurry (he was giggling a bit) but you can see a great smile. Jacob has one smile that is SO huge that he looks like a Seal. We are tying to get a picture of it but haven't been able to yet.

Bumbo!!

We tested out the Bumbo today. Jacob is ALMOST ready to actually be able to use it. He seemed to like it for the few minutes we tested it today.


I go back to work in LESS than an week!! ICK! I can't believe that my 8 weeks are almost up. Jacob starts going to the babysitter on Monday. I wanted him to have 2 days before I go back to work so if I need to go get him early I can. He is going to do great there, I'm just not sure how I'm going to do leaving him all day!

Happy New Year!!

Happy New Year!! We had a great night last night. Jacob slept great as usual and Matt & I got a ton of painting done. I am finally getting around to posting Jacob's 3 week pictures! Jacob and I are hanging out today and once he takes a nap it will be back to painting.
